The MSBA at Northeastern's D'Amore-McKim School of Business is a STEM-designated program built to take strong technical fundamentals and turn them into business-ready judgment. The coursework spans the full analytics stack, from machine learning and statistics to BI, data engineering, and the strategic frameworks that make any of it useful inside an organization. Boston was the right city for it. Close to a dense network of life science, finance, and tech companies, and to the kind of working professionals and faculty who pull theory back toward practice every week.
The biggest shift in my thinking happened on the boundary between the technical work and the business question behind it. Before Northeastern, my instinct on a new dataset was to start cleaning. Now my instinct is to start asking. Who needs this analysis. What decision are they trying to make. What would actually change their mind. The technical skills got sharper too, but the difference that matters most is the order of operations.
The program also pushed me hard on stakeholder communication, which had been the weakest part of my pre-Northeastern toolkit. Project-based courses with real clients, case competitions, and capstone work all force the same skill: turning a complex analysis into a clear, defensible recommendation a non-technical audience can act on. That muscle gets stronger every time you use it, and Northeastern made me use it a lot.
